Welcome Year 2015 With a New Mentality and New Body

Hallelujah! Thanks to the Lord! Year 2014 which started with love ended also with love. In order to welcome 2015 with a new mentality and new body, from Jan 1 to Jan 2, Christian Gospel Mission's True Light Church held a 2-day 1-night outing event for the whole church to welcome the New Year together!

In this journey, we started off heading south to Taichung at 2:30 am on Jan 1 to challenge Mt. Dongmao which is one of the seven most majestic mountains at Guguan. More than 90 people reached the top. We stayed at Guguan for the night, and enjoyed the hot spring to relieve our fatigue, while also preparing ourselves for the new year. The next day, Jan 2, after having predawn service in the nearby Gospel Garden, we immediately drove to the nearby Qingjing Farm to have some fun with small animals like sheep and white horses.

On the way back, brothers and sisters each shared the realizations and feelings they had received during their journey. The part that most people mentioned was the mountain climbing on the first day. During the process, not only the pastors, but also the newcomers who were still listening to the Bible studies, kids who were climbing mountains with us, and brothers and sisters in each department had all found image rocks.

In May last year, Director, Pastor Jung Myung Seok, once said to us, “Even if they are all stones and rocks, if they resemble human beings, animals or possess some kind of image, their value will be different.” This time the rocks we found have different images - Taiwan image rock, heart image rock, Natural Temple Holy Son Rock image rock, human face image rock, etc. Everyone felt amazed by this.

A member who found the Holy Son Rock image rock said, “Last year to keep the promises with the Lord, I went to evangelize every day. This time before climbing mountains I felt that I would receive Holy Son’s gift, and then the first rock I found was the rock possessing the same image as the Natural Temple Holy Son Rock! I’m really thankful to God.”

 Besides the testimonies about image rocks, a male newcomer said, “During the mountain trip, I called out to the Lord, together with brothers who were by my side and we also offered up songs of praise. This helped me gain more strength to walk till the end. I am really thankful!"

In addition, a female newcomer said, “Because I have never climbed any mountain this steep or far before, I was very tired during the process. I couldn’t climb that quickly, and I was very worried that I would be wasting everyone’s time. However, the brothers and sisters in the church are so nice. I am really touched because instead of walking by themselves and leaving me behind, they adjusted their steps according to my speed, and accompanied me as we walked together. A sister shared with me that Director, Pastor Jung Myung Seok, is also like this. Although he is a leader, when taking everyone on mountain hikes, he would take care of those who are behind and offer them help instead of just walking forward, thinking about the destination. I was truly inspired and touched by his story.

Because God, the Holy Spirit and the Holy Son were leading the way, the whole journey was full of peace and glory. Through this journey, the entire congregation at True Light Church determined their minds even more to keep raising their level, developing themselves, and fulfilling their goals and dreams in the coming year.
